Presently, most waste plastic ends up being incinerated.

When recycled, it’s typically through a mechanical method. This involves sorting the plastic by type, washing it, melting it down, and reforming it into what are known as recyclates.

But the material properties of these recyclates differ greatly from the original material, excluding their use in any quality demanding their use in many applications and processes.

Our technology is based on a thermochemical process called pyrolysis.

It converts waste plastic into its original raw material – the high-quality petroleum product naphtha.

Naphtha is used in the manufacture of almost all petroleum-based chemical feedstocks. These include plastics, detergents and solvents. By producing naphtha from existing waste plastic, the use of limited fossil resources can be reduced or even eliminated.

Our technology bridges the gap between mechanical recycling and incineration of plastic waste. This is the key to create a complete circular economy for waste plastic, turning plastic into a continuously renewable resource. In this way, we generate added value and at the same time dramatically reduce disposal costs. This enables an almost infinite cycle of plastic production with significant CO₂ savings potential.
